Data Select has launched a new six-figure advertising campaign to back its latest range of JCB Toughphones.

The outdoor advertising campaign will initially target the Midlands and Northern Ireland, where the distributor has seen 'strong' sales of the devices during the past 18 months. Hundreds of buses and billboards will carry the 'A New Breed of Toughphone' creative.

Data Select marketing director Jason Kemp said: 'The campaign marks a considerable investment in the JCB Toughphone brand, which we have been steadily building since the launch of the first phone in 2008. With the new range, including our first tough smartphone, now is the perfect time to extend our marketing efforts further with a large scale push on advertising.'

With this initial burst of activity we are targeting the Midlands and Northern Ireland, and if it proves successful, we will look to expand the campaign to include other regions.'

the Ferrari suffered quite a lot of damage. So, what happened to this (once) fine example of a Ferrari

The vehicle was being driven by 53-year old businessman Joe bellned, who was returning home last Friday, with the accident taking place on a busy cross road outside Uttoxeter

The man told the police he saw a hedgehog that was crossing the road and wanted to make everything he could in order not to hit the animal. Thus, he made a sudden maneuver and lost control, hitting the Giant JCB advertisement. Neither the driver, nor the hedgehog were hurt in the crash, and strangely enough neither was the JCB Toughphone.
